Operation Button Up Jeans Week 2

I was hoping you could help me.  Please, won’t you help me find my core?  You know those muscles that help you stand up, get up, suck in, sit up, crunch… that core?  Mine is nowhere to be seen.  I have checked everywhere. I looked in the kitchen, in the closet, under my shirt and my core has simply disappeared. Have you seen it? Did I lend it to you?

Here’s the poster I posted to find my core:

WANTED!

WHAT? Abdominal muscles and inner core muscles

LAST SEEN? 4 years ago. They disappeared and withered away over 2 pregnancies. They are deep in hiding – most likely hanging out with my hip bones which I also haven’t seen in years.

REWARD? Standing up straight and taking the strain off your back, decreases risk of back injury, decreases risk of developing heart diseases, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes, trim waist… need I continue?

I had two surprises this week at Booty Camp Fitness.  One was the lack of core muscles I have, the other was… well a little more sensitive.  We open the classes with a variety of skipping drills.  I can skip.  I can jump.  I just didn’t know I had to do it so gingerly.  See, some muscles (core included) just aren’t what they used to. After birthing  two nearly 10 pound babies, those muscles never fully recovered. I hadn’t really noticed until… we were skipping and well, um, I was a little surprised that I couldn’t fully engage all those muscles. Captain K says that skipping is equally as good for firming up those muscles as Kegels- so I think I am on my way to a firmer and stronger – errr – um – you know! :)

I was very thankful that I was sporting my Stride Everyday undies. They are there to back those, um, timely muscle malfunctions. With a little built in absorbent strip, I could jump to my hearts content.  I will be sharing a proper review and a giveaway about Stride Everyday Undies next week.

I digress.  So I have lived to tell about the second week of Booty Camp Fitness. It has also been 9 days since my last sugar.  It’s getting easier.  Seriously. After a week of the shakes, headaches, lethargy and irritability from weaning off sugar, I am feeling better.  And I am not just saying that. And I found my workout pants so no tell-all grey cotton leggings. We were all thankful!

How are you doing?  Are any of you still with me in Operation Button Up Jeans, or perhaps I can entice you to join this week?

Last weeks challenge was to eliminate sugar.  Done.

This weeks challenge is to drink 1-2 Litres of water a day.  For those readers who are South of the Border – that means around 67 fluid ounces.  Don’t worry, you won’t float away (that was my concern) but you will flush out your system and keep hydrated.

Power on Girls!!
